3. Fibre to Fabric
Defination:-
1. Shearing
"The fleece of sheep along with a thin layer of skin is removed from its body. This process is called shearing".
2. Scouring
"The sheared skin with hair is thoroughly washed in tanks to remove grease, dust and dirt .This is called scouring. "
3. Fibers
"The thin strands of thread that we see are made up of still thinner strands called fibres ".
4. Natural fibers
"The fibers of some fabrics such as cotton , jute, silk, wool are called Natural fibers. "
5. Synthetic fiber
"Some fibre are also made from chemicals substances, which are not obtain f from plants or animal sources. These are called synthetic fibers. "Eg- polyster, nylon, acrylic .
6. Yarn
"Gently start pulling out the cotton while continuously twisting the fibers we can able to make a ' yarn'.
7. Spinning
The process of making yarn from fibre is called "spinning ".
8. Weaving
The process of arranging two sets of yarns together to make a fabric is called "weaving".
9. Sorting
The separating of the fleece of a sheep in to sections according to the quality of woollen fibres is called " sorting ".
10. Wool
The long woollen fibres are speen or twisted in to thick yarn called " wool".
11. Sericulture
The rearing of silkworms for obtaining silk is called " sericulture ". Sericulture means silk farming.
12. Silk worm
The eggs are hatched into very small larva within a week .The larva of silk moths are called " silk worm or Caterpillar ".
13. Pupa
When the silkworm is ready to inter the next stage of its development called "pupa".
14. Cocoon
The Caterpillar completely covers itself by silk fibre and turn in to pupa .This covering is known as "cocoon ".
15. Reeling the silk
The process of taking out threads from cocoon for use as silk is called "reeling the silk ".
